Obituary of Larry Hughes

Larry C. Hughes, 51, of Stuart, passed away July 3, 2009 at Martin Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Catskill, NY, and had been a resident of the Stuart area for 24 years, having moved from Colonie, NY. He had worked 13 years as a Firefighter/EMT for Martin County Fire Rescue, and had volunteered for 2 years before being employed with the county. He was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and School in Stuart, and was a member of the Firefighters local union #2959.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Willena Hughes of Stuart; daughter, Jennifer Marie Hughes of Okeechobee; son, Mark William Hughes of Stuart; one grandson; mother, Marie Hughes of Port St. Lucie; and brother Kevin Charles Hughes of Geneva. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Hughes.

Visitation will be 12:00 - 2:00PM, Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church and School in Stuart.

A funeral service will follow at 2:00PM Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church and School.
