August 15, 1937 – February 27, 2024


Dermott (Meliti), Laura L, of Port Saint Lucie, FL passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.


Laura was born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey, and a long-time resident of Edison, New Jersey before retiring to Florida. She was the loving daughter of the late Nicholas R. and Laura L. Meliti, and beloved sister to Frank R. Meliti and his wife Theresa, Nicholas R. Meliti, Jr., Joseph M. Meliti and his wife Lena, Eleanor L. Anderson (Meliti) and her husband Andy, and Robert P. Meliti and his wife Delphine.


Laura found the most joy in hosting holidays and parties with family and friends, and just spending time her family, a typical Italian mother and grandmother who wouldn't let you leave the house without "something to eat".


Laura was preceded in death by her beloved husband George R. Dermott, Sr. She is survived, remembered and will be missed by their children George R. Dermott, Jr., Laura J. Winston and her husband Corey, and Steven J. Dermott; grandchildren Rickey J. Dermott and his wife Kim, Katherine Critelli (Winston) and her husband Joseph Critelli, and Nicholas C. Dermott; 2 great grandsons, Jackson P. Critelli and Logan G. Critelli, and brother-in-law Roy Dermott, as well as several nieces and nephews.


A memorial service followed by interment will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 16, 2024.
