Laura B. Anderson, 89, of Stuart, FL, passed away on January 23, 2016 at the Martin Medical Center, Stuart.

She was born in April 24, 1926 in Kankakee, IL. She was the daughter of Avery and Anna Harris. She was married to Merle F. Anderson, September 17, 1946. He preceded her in death May 12, 2000.

She had several jobs while traveling her early years. She was a telegraph on the railroad in Arizona, a dental assistant in Texas during World War II. She was a bookkeeper at Security Lumber Company in Kankakee. When she moved to Florida, she was a sales lady at a dress shop and volunteered at a thrift store.

She was a member of the Moose. Laura had many loved friends, liked traveling and spending time with family.

She was a member of Stuart Congregational Church.

Surviving are one son, Jeff Anderson and his wife, Kathy of South Carolina; two daughters, Diana West of Perryville, Missouri and Sharon Smith of Bourbonnais, Illinois. She had four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one boy, Dana, two sisters, three brothers and her parents.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City.
