Obituary of Lavetta Messer
Lavetta Messer, 98, of Hobe Sound, FL, died April 19, 2009 at the Manors of Hobe Sound.
Born in Pierre, South Dakota, she had lived on the Singer Island, Boca Raton and Palm City for over 58 years coming from Denver, Colorado. She had also lived in Bermuda and the Caribbean.
She graduated for St. Joseph's Nursing School of Nursing in Denver.
During World War II, she served in the U.S. Marine Corps and later in civil service in the Panama Canal Zone. She was the secretary for Air Force Major General H.A. Davis of the SAC in the Caribbean for several years.
She owned and operated gift shops in Cuba and San Juan, Puerto Rico
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Harold Messer in 1993.
SERVICES: There will a private memorial service with inurnment at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
