Larry will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Larry was born on May 18, 1932 in Ozone Park, NY to Caroline and Lawrence T. Jurgensen. While in High School, Larry met the Love of his Life, Joan Worsdale. They married in 1953. Shortly afterwards, Larry joined the US Army and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He went to finance school while in the US Army.
After serving his country, he returned home and earned his degree in Finance at Brooklyn College. He worked for the New York Life Insurance Company. He later worked as a Private Accountant for the Shopco Company (builder of shopping malls and condominiums) in New York City. While there, he earned his degree in Risk Management at the College of Insurance, in New York City. In the late 1970's, Larry created his own insurance agency, Jurgensen Brokerage Associates, Inc. in Commack, NY. Larry's insurance agency was a quick success with the help of his 3 children, Nancy, Larry and Donna.
Over the years, Larry's business contacts and friends kept luring him to South Florida where he purchased property to take his family for vacation from New York. He sold his insurance agency and permanently moved to Hobe Sound, and later to Palm City.
Larry was a "Do-er" and loved socializing. He's had many friends over the years and made everyone laugh. He kept himself busy over the years with: Home Improvement projects, Gardening, Church and Elections Volunteering, Traveling, as well as social gathering with his family and friends.
Larry is survived by his wife, Joan, of 70 years, his three children: Nancy Schuld (Charl), Lawrence Jurgensen, Jr (Marilyn), and Donna LaGoy (James).
