Prostko
September 12, 1926 – January 10, 2022
Leo Bernard Prostko, 95, was safely ushered into Heaven on January 10, 2022, with his son David by his side. He was born September 12, 1926, in Kenosha Wisconsin and had been a resident of Palm City Florida since 1998 after relocating from Williston North Dakota.
A Veteran of WWII, Leo enlisted in the US Army Air Corps and became a Cryptographic Specialist and was Honorably Discharged as a Sergeant. His years following the military he married his wife "Tussy", had three children, and received a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. After a move to Los Angeles California, he worked with RCA on F4 Phantom radios and nose radar at Edwards Air Force Base. The family relocated to Williston North Dakota where Leo taught High School Electronics for over 20 years. Besides being a good husband and father, Leo was an active Boy Scoutmaster, a licensed HAM radio operator, loved photography and was a devout Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Berenice "Tussy" Prostko. Also, preceded in death by his parents Dominik and Bernice (Wrobleski) Prostko, and six siblings, sisters Hedwig "Hattie" Seliga, Helen Kulbiski, Margaret Miller and brothers Stanley Prostko, Raymond Prostko and Casimir Prostko.
Leo is survived and will be missed by his three children, David A. Prostko of Palm City Florida, Rebecca A Prostko, MD of Jensen Beach Florida, and Michael C Prostko MD (Susan) and granddaughter Emma Prostko of Chattanooga Tennessee. Along with his sister Bernice (Karl) Brown of Kenosha Wisconsin. He is further survived and loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City where donations can be made in Memory of Leo in lieu of flowers. holyredeemercc.org
A viewing will take place at Forest Hills Funeral Home on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 9:00 to 9:30am.
A funeral mass will take place at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Chapel Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 10:00am with Military Honors immediately following mass.
A private family inurnment service will take place at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
