Leonard (Leo) A., Caracappa, 80, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2022 surrounded by his family in Stuart, Florida.

Leo was born July 1, 1942 in Brooklyn New York, son of the late John and Rosaria Caracappa. As a young man, Leo served in the National Guard transporting and maintaining heavy machinery. Later had a career driving a truck all over the country. Leo was full of old-world wisdom and could always be seen holding a cigar. He was full of great stories, like how he bought his first car for $50 (that ran forever), when as a young kid he and some friends found $20 and were able to buy lunch, go horseback riding, see a movie and even had money left over. His first mortgage was $100 a month(which he lost sleep over). Leo enjoyed doo-wop music and would even break out into song singing the "golden oldies."

He was a world traveler having been to China, Cuba, Germany, Italy, and various cruises. Leo had an affinity for all things with a motor. He loved working on his antique Ford Club Coupe and going to different car shows where he knew every model and year on sight. Every Sunday, you would find him together with his friends to race pigeons and talk about the world.

Throughout his life, Leo took great care of the people he loved. Affectionately called Pop He was a loving husband to Frances, his wife; a caring father to his son, John Michael, and daughter Christine; and a doting Pop to his grandson and wife Leo and Monica, His grandson Karl Jr. and, his granddaughter Michaela. As well as his brand new great-granddaughter Cecilia.

Later in life he met his partner Una whom he shared 26 wonderful years with. He was well loved by friends and family, all of whom will miss
him tremendously.

Services will be private for family and friends. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the
Forest Hills Memorial Park.
