Obituary of Lionel Goldthwaite
Lionel "Jay" Goldthwaite, 77, of Palm City, passed away at his residence, October 21, 2009. He was born December 14, 1931 in Glastonbury, CT. He had been a resident of Florida since 1976, having moved from East Hartford, CT. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He was a design engineer, and retired from Pratt & Whitney after 40 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stuart. He was a volunteer for the Florida Oceanographic Society in Stuart. He was an avid photographer, enjoyed cars, but most of all loved his family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy A. Goldthwaite of Palm City; a son, Wesley J. Goldthwaite of Fort Worth, TX; daughters, Pamela G. Monopoli (Eric) of Orlando, FL and Karen G. Narwold (Christopher) of Wilmington, DE; grandsons, Brenton D. Goldthwaite, Davis M. Narwold and Forrest J. Narwold.
A visitation will be 4-6:00PM, Monday, October 26, 2009 at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City Chapel.
A funeral service will follow at 6:00PM in the Chapel with Rev. Phillip Short officiating.
