Obituary of Lois Gentile
Mrs. Lois Diane "Pat" Gentile, 79, passed away with her loved ones by her side on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at the Masonic Care Community.
She was born in the Bronx, NY, on May 15, 1930, a daughter of Herman and Ruth (Rafield) Suskind. She was educated in local NYC schools. In 1953, Lois was joined in marriage to Philip Gentile. They enjoyed almost fifty wonderful years together until his passing in 2002.
Pat was a well known caterer and restauranteur who worked throughout Utica and Palm City, FL where she lived for 24 years until returning to Utica in 2005.
A lifelong Yankee fan, nothing surpassed Pat's love of the Yankees, except her love for her children and grandchildren, whom she totally adored. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children, JoAnne and Luke Colenzo of Whitesboro, NY, Gail and Chad Gibson, Vicky Messier, and Michael Gentile all of Palm City, FL; her grandchildren, Scoobie Royer, Michael Colenzo, Philip Royer, Nicholas Messier, Anthony Colenzo and Rachel Gibson; also her niece and nephews especially her favorite nephew Marc Lopez and his wife Melody and their children Christian and Alex.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, February 14th, 2pm in the chapel at Forest Hills, Palm City. The family would like to offer their most sincere gratitude to the staff of the Westchester Community of the Masonic Care Community for the loving care shown to their mom during her stay.
