Obituary of Louis Wolman

Louis (Laibel) Wolman, 94, passed away at his home in Stuart, FL on March 24, 2012.

He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to the late Jacob and late Eva Wolman. He survived his wife of 64 years - Sarah Wolman. Lou also survived his three sisters - Frances Tafler, Harriet Jacobson and Ruth Saks.

Lou was a WWII veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He volunteered at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal before moving to West Virginia where he spent most of his life in Beckey, West Virginia. He was very active in the Beth El Temple where he served as president of B'nai B'rith. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Moose Club, the Elks Club and Calico and Jeans Square Dance Club. He wrote hundreds of poems and even had some published. He enjoyed playing the harmonica.

Lou and Sarah moved to Stuart, Florida in 1980 and became active in the Jewish

Social Club, B'nai B'rith and Elk's Club. He loved going on cruise ships.

Lou loved to swim. He swam a mile almost every day and then went fishing and rode his bike.

Lou loved nature and he cared about everyone. He was the kindest, gentlest and sweetest person. He had a positive attitude and a smile for everyone.

He never met a stranger - everyone was a friend and he always made everyone feel at ease.

Lou's sense of humor will be missed by everyone in his family as well as many friends.

Survivors include his daughter Marsha and Steve Schoenbrun of Palm City, FL,

his son, Jack and Bonnie Wolman of Beckley, WV, his grand children -

Elaine Wagner of South Charleston, WV and Terry Wolman

of Beckley, WV and his great grand children - Sarah Wagner

and Stephanie (Sissy) Wagner of South Charleston, WV as well as several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
