Obituary of Lucy Scibilia

Lucy Rey Scibilia, resident of Florida since 1999 died on April 3, 2012 at the Treasure Coast Hospice of Stuart, FL. Born in New York City on July 25, 1927 to Jose and Maria Rey, who came from Spain, she was the oldest of their three daughters, Frances R. Miano and Gloria Allianello. Following High School Education, she was trained as a hairdresser, opera singer, and finally entered the nursing profession at Caledonian Hospital, Brooklyn, NY, receiving her license from the State of New York in 1954. She worked at Columbus-Mother Cabrini Hospital in New York City, specializing in operating room nursing. This continued until February 2, 1957 when she married Nicholas A. Scibilia, a maritime lawyer in New York City. Children were born to her marriage family; Ignatius N. Richard J. and Dr. Lawrence P. Scibilia, Ariana Jaren Scibilia.

In 1967 they moved to the Town of Greenburg/Scarsdale, Westchester County New York area. In 1999 she and her husband retired to Florida, settling within the Cutter Sound/Palm Cove Area; building their final home together until April 3, 2012. She will be cremated at the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City Chapel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Mapp Rd., Palm City, following cremation; her remains will be sent to Ferncliff Cemetery;Rosewood Mausoleum for Inurnment.
