Luis Ramon Rosa Juarbe, 85, of Port Saint Lucie, died on Monday, April 28, 2025 with his family by his side.

He was born to the late Ramon and Emma Rosa on August 13, 1939, in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Luis Graduated from Performing Arts High School in NY in 1957 and received his Bachelor of Music degree in 1966, and his Master of Arts degree in 1970. He married the late Annabelle Rosa in 1970 and they lived together in Manhattan and in CO-OP City in the Bronx, New York before relocating to Port Saint Lucie, Florida in 1993. In 2017, he met Theresa (Pena) Rosa and they got married on July 3, 2024. Luis was a Junior High School music teacher in Spanish Harlem NYC and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of his students. He played with the Mike Ensenat Orchestra in NYC for 25 years and was the leader of the Herencia Latina Orchestra in NYC & Florida. Luis was also the pianist for the Dreamers, a 17-piece swing band, that played at Shuckers Restaurant on Hutchinson Island in Jensen Beach, Florida.

Luis was an active member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Port Saint Lucie, Florida since 1993 and played for the Young People's Choir, and the Spanish Choir, & the Adult Choir.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Annabelle; his son, Julio Butler; & his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa; two children, Richard Rosa in North Carolina and Litza Rosa in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. He also is survived by two grandchildren, Mario Butler and Kimberlee Powell and two great grandchildren, Acelynn Powell & Shaune Powell.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 4- 7 pm at Forest Hills Funeral Home, 2001 SW Murphy Road, Palm City, FL, 34990. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2330 SE Mariposa Avenue, Port Saint Lucie, FL, 34952. Entombment to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the American Cancer Society OR Holy Family Catholic Church: in the memo please specify if it is for: the Young People's Choir, the Spanish Choir, OR the Adult Choir.
