Manly was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, the first of nine children to Leslie T Miller and Anna E Miller. He graduated from Franklin Township high school Wanamaker, Indiana, where he was very active in sports, earning varsity letters baseball, basketball and football.
Manly survived by his wife, Virginia Miller and daughter Joyce L Herb in a well as a numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, great, great, grandchildren.
He proudly serve in the US army at the end of World War II, serving the Pacific theater and in Japan, after leaving the military, with the rank of TC 4 sergeant, manually served into apprenticeship programs before entering employment in the aircraft industry, where he was awarded several patterns related to the industry. He retired from Pratt Whitney aircraft in 1987 as a supervisor of manufacturing engineering services.
He had a life time interest in youth sports coaching Little League baseball for more than 20 years. He also was awarded the Indiana Jaycees's "Man of The Year" in 1956 for his work with the youth.
He was a charter member of the Jupiter Light F&AM large and was a master Mason for more than 65 years.
At Manly request, there will only be a private gathering by the water with family only.
