Obituary of Manuel Carabel

Manuel "Manny" Carabel, 76, of Palm City, died September 7, 2011 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart. He was born in New York, New York, and had been a winter resident of Palm City since 1988 and moved here full time 13 years ago, having moved from Aberdeen, NJ. He had been a veteran of the U.S. Army. Manuel worked 43 years in construction for HRH Construction Co. in NY. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City, and was a former member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Holmdel, NJ where he was a Eucharistic minister.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Eleanor Carabel of Palm City; son, Manuel Carabel in Red Bank, NJ; daughters, Lisa Drapluk of Pembroke Pines, FL, Susan Clarke of Glenmont, NY and Liz Griffith of Matawan, NJ and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Delphine Carabel and grandchild, Angel Carabel.

A gathering for friends and family will be 4:00 - 7:00PM Friday, September 9, 2011 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel with a prayer service at 6:30PM.

A memorial service will be held 9:00AM, Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City.
