Obituary of Margaret Bolender
Margaret M. (Peggy) Bolender, 83, died at her Palm City home quietly on January 17, 2009. Peggy relocated to Palm City in September of 2008, having lived in Ft. Lauderdale since 1956.
Peg and her husband, Ted brought their family of four children to Ft. Lauderdale in 1956.
Ted and his brother Karl came to join their father in the real estate and development business in NE Ft. Lauderdale eventually focusing on warehouse properties in Oakland Park. The two youngest children arrived after they moved to Florida.
Long time parishioners of St. Clement's Catholic Church in Wilton Manors, they moved to SE 9th St and to St. Sebastian Parish in 1974. Peg was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Ted Bolender just a year ago.
Peg was born in Bryn Mawr, PA, worked briefly at Villanova University, married in 1945 at Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Bryn Mawr and became a full time Mom beginning in 1946. Before moving to Florida, Ted and Peg lived year round in Ocean City, New Jersey
She was survived by her children; Sherry Plymale and husband Dr. Tom Plymale, Palm City, Kevin and wife Mary Bolender, Ft. Lauderdale , Shaun and wife Susan Bolender, Dade City and Maureen Bolender, Ft. Lauderdale, daughter-in-law Irene Bolender of Belle, FL , 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children, Brian and Dennis Bolender.
Fr. Liam Quinn will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Sebastian Catholic Church -Harbor Beach- on Saturday, January 24 at 9:00am. Family and friends will gather immediately following Mass in the Parish Hall.
Inurnment will be at the South Florida VA National Cemetery in Lake Worth at a later date.
