IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marie
Voges
November 29, 1923 – July 1, 2022
Marie O'Malley Voges passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family after a short illness on July 01, 2022.
Born in Knockadoona, Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, Ireland on November 29, 1923 to the late James O'Malley and Annie (McHale), who lived to the age of 107.
Marie was predeceased by her husband Robert Voges, brother James Feerick, sister Kathleen Kilcommons and brother Michael John O'Malley as well as nephew in law James Farrell.
Marie is survived by her two loving daughters Anne Rice (Thomas) and Marie Reilly (John), five cherished grandchildren Robert Rice, Erin Dolan (Kevin), Bridget Rice, Ashley Starace (Robert) and Kelly Reilly (Sean) as well as three adoring great grandchildren, Cole and Charlotte Dolan and Reilly Starace.
Marie also leaves behind her Goddaughter and niece Mary Kilcommons, as well as nieces Kathy Sieb (Tom), Eileen Farrell, Connie Devlin (Tim) and nephew Neil Kilcommons (Michelle) in addition, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.
Marie was affectionately known to her nieces, nephews and most recently her great-granddaughters, Charlotte and Reilly as "Mimi".
For Marie there was nothing more important than God and Family. Mostly, Marie wanted to be remembered, "for being a good mother who loved her children".
Marie was proud of her Irish roots and was a proud member of the Mayo Ladies Auxiliary. She moved from her home in Ireland to London to find work and eventually moved to New York City to rejoin her sister Kathleen in Queens. Marie found a job with AT&T where she met the only true love of her life, Bob. They married and settled in Yonkers to raise their family. In 1985, Marie and Bob had the opportunity to move to their dream home in Florida and spent their remaining years living the dream until Bob's life was cut short in 1992.
Marie spent many years volunteering her time at the St. Vincent de Paul Society Shop and a dedicated member of the Parish Altar Ministry at St. Christopher Church in Hobe Sound. Just recently Marie realized she was no longer able to continue driving and found herself back in New York splitting time between her 2 daughters' homes and Marie treasured spending time with her immediate family down at the Jersey shore during the summer months spending time with family in Ocean City, NJ.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a Prayer Service to honor Marie's life led by Fr. Lagiovane at 7:30pm at Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc., 10 Fowler Ave, Carmel, NY 10512.
Marie will be escorted to her final resting place in Florida.
