IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marilyn E
Martine
April 8, 1938 – November 10, 2024
Our beloved mother, Marilyn Martine, was called to heaven on November 10, 2024 to join her dear husband, Tony, and her youngest son, Steve.
Born on April 8, 1938 in New Jersey to Hamilton Alton and Marion Gahan, she was the oldest sister to Neva (deceased).
With her parents and sister, she moved to Miami, Florida at the age of eight. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School and made life-long friends. After graduation, she married James Wilber and had four children: Lori, Tim, Steve, and Lynn.
In 1984, Marilyn moved to Martin County with her husband, Daniel Schmidt, residing in Stuart. After she lost her husband, she remarried and later moved to Palm City. In 2023, her children decided she needed additional care and moved her to Jupiter, Florida, to an assisted living facility near her youngest daughter, Lynn.
Growing up, Marilyn enjoyed being involved in sports such as softball, volleyball, basketball, swimming, diving, and line dancing. Her greatest love and overall passion like no other was ballroom dancing. She always loved teaching others how to express themselves through music and movement. Her elegance and talent inspired all who danced in her presence.
Marilyn had a great faith in God. For many years, she volunteered as the church secretary and sang in the church choir. She devoted her Sunday mornings to attending Catholic mass and volunteering for the church. Her strong faith and inner joy touched everyone who knew her, and her love and compassion for others left a profound impact.
With her warm heart and gentle spirit, Marilyn was a woman of admirable character. She found beauty in life's simple moments and was happiest surrounded by those she loved. Family and close friends meant the world to her, and her life's journey was rich with blessings.
Above all, we cherish the beautiful love she showed and created in all that she did. Marilyn lived a life filled with grace, kindness, and unconditional love.
Marilyn leaves behind three children and one deceased, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and her sweet, little dog, Troy.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Trustbridge Hospice of Jupiter for all of their support and loving care.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Trustbridge Hospice in memory of Marilyn Martine.
Services will be held on November 29, 2024 beginning as early as 10:30 and a prayer service at 11:30 a.m. at Forest Hills Funeral Home, in Palm City, Florida. The cemetery service will follow.
