Obituary of Marion Leary
Marion Flaig Leary, 87, of Vero Beach, Florida, died January 28, 2009 at Indian River Estates, Vero Beach.
Born in Trenton, New Jersey, she had been a resident of the Port St. Lucie and Vero Beach for over 34 years coming from her birthplace.
She had been a professional figure skater. She was a pairs skater with her husband as "Leary and Flaig" at the 1939 New York World's Fair in Sun Valley, with the Sonja Henie Ice Revue at the Center Theatre in New York City and for ten years with the Ice Capades. After retiring from skating she worked for the US Department of Agriculture, in New Jersey.
She was of the Methodist faith. She had been a member of the Sandpiper Golf Club at Club Med in Port St. Lucie.
Survivors include a daughter Karan Michael of Frederick, Colorado; a son Guy Leary of Phoenix, Arizona; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon H. Leary.
