Riemersma
July 25, 1936 – May 11, 2022
Marjorie "Marji" Ann Riemersma (Olmstead) was born July 25, 1936, in Toledo, OH. She entered Heaven's gates on May 11, 2022. She was married to Ronald Riemersma who passed in 2010. Her only sister, Mary Lou "Sonny" Brown, recently passed away on May 7, 2022
She graduated from DeVilbiss High School. Over the years, Marji worked as Convention Secretary and Flight Attendant with Delta Airlines and lived in Aurora, Colorado. She worked for the Minnesota Twins the first year they came to Minnesota from Washington as the Senators, and she was the Manager of Mail Order Ticket Sales.
In 1960 they built their first home in St. Paul Minnesota. They lived in many different states, wherever Ron's job in the automotive industry took them. They raised their family in Allen Park, MI and lived there for 30 years.
When they retired, they moved to Palm City, Florida where they enjoyed warm weather and tennis year-round. She loved Tennis and she was Rafa Nadal's #1 fan. Marji was the captain of the lady's tennis travel team at Monarch Country Club. She also loved dancing and she was a competitive ballroom dancer with the Fred Astaire Dance Team and won many competitions.
Marji had an unwavering faith in God. She absolutely loved Jesus. She was a member of Faith Family Worship Center in Palm City, Florida. She served as President of the Christian Women's Club held at Monarch Country Club and was the Vice President / Treasurer of the local Women Aglow. She did volunteer work at various nursing homes, leading bible studies and music. She also was a volunteer with 4 Cs (Caring Children, Clothing Children).
Marji is survived by her 2 sons and 2 daughters, Suzanne Drzewiecki (Ebert) (Tony), Randy Riemersma (Patti), Micki Rodriguez (Riemersma), Rick Riemersma. Marji is survived by 7 grandchildren, Angela Evans (Riemersma) (Michael), Amber Rahill (Lange) (Alex), Andy Riemersma (Leanza), Alex Rodriguez (Abby), Zachary Rodriguez, Rachel Riemersma and Kal Riemersma. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, Audrey Evans, Owen Evans and Alijana Riemersma.
The family will receive friends for a viewing on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, from 10:00 – 12 (noon) at Forest Hills Funeral Home, 2001 SW Murphy Road, Palm City, FL 34990. A funeral service celebrating Marji's life will follow immediately after the viewing from 12:00 – 1:00. The committal service following the funeral service will be for immediate family members only.
