Obituary of Marolynn Pepitone

Marolynn M. Pepitone, resident of Port St. Lucie, died January 20, 2010 at her residence, from natural causes after a long illness. Mrs. Pepitone moved to Port St. Lucie from Palm City, FL in 1998, coming from Washington, DC, where she resided with her husband of 65 years, retired Air Force Colonel, Byron V. Pepitone.

Mrs. Pepitone was an accomplished handiwork artist specializing in needlepoint and knitting with many of her framed needlework hangings displayed in the homes of her sons and friends. She was a prodigious producer and the pieces that she has left to her family and heirs are many. During her lifetime, as the wife of a commissioned military officer and later as the wife of a Presidential Appointee, Mrs. Pepitone was the social leader and guiding person throughout her long married life and the responsibilities imposed upon her by the positions held by Colonel and later Selective Service Director Pepitone.

She is survived by two sons, Byron V. Pepitone II of Port St. Lucie and James S. Pepitone of Plano, Texas. She leaves behind 4 grandchildren: LeAynne Warner of Tucson, AZ, Tammi Hankerson of Ft. Worth, TX, Byron V. Ashby of Denver, CO and Alicia V. Pepitone of Harrisonburg, VA, as well as 8 great grandchildren who reside with their parents in the western part of the United States.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on January 25, 2010 at the Forest Hills Funeral Homes - Palm City Chapel followed by a graveside service in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, FL.
