Obituary of Martin McGannon
Martin Charles McGannon, 79, of Pt. St. Lucie died Wednesday, April 22 at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, Ft. Pierce. He was born in Bronx, New York and has lived in Pt. St. Lucie since 2008, moving from Stuart where he lived for 11 years. Before retirement, he worked for New York City Police Department for 21 years, retiring as a detective. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Hudson Valley 10-13 Association and a lifetime member of the Stuart-Jensen Elks Lodge #1870 and affiliated with the Westchester Club. Survivors include his wife of 9 years, Haydee Ramos-McGannon of Pt. St. Lucie; sister Mae Koy of Naples, Fl., sons Kevin McGannon of Brewster, New York, Dennis McGannon of Lake Mohegan, New York, Martin McGannon of Yorktown Heights, New York, Patrick McGannon of Peekskill, New York; daughters Kelly Hunter of Wappingers Falls, New York and Michele McGannon of Stuart, Fl; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Martin and Alice McGannon; first wife Eileen McGannon; and brothers James "Jimmy" McGannon and John McGannon. Memorial donations can be made to your local veterans association. A private memorial service was held Thursday, April 23 at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City.
