Obituary

Mary J. Hennebach, 95 of Palm City, Florida, passed away on February 5, 2018 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Hay-Madeira House, Stuart, Florida.

Born in Denver, Colorado, she earned a BS in Home Economics at the University of Colorado at Boulder and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.  While there, she also met Ralph Hennebach who had just graduated from Colorado School of Mines.  They wed in 1946 after he served in the Navy in WWII.

Ralph worked for ASARCO, a smelting and refining company of non-ferrous metals, his entire life, and Mary Lou was by his side every moment.  She was a city girl, so mining towns like Hayden, AZ and El Paso, TX were challenging for her, but eventually they ended up in Short Hills, NJ which she enjoyed very much.

They adopted and raised three children, she played a competitive hand of bridge, a not so competitive game of golf, sewed many of her own clothes, volunteered at the local hospital, and hosted many parties.  Together they travelled to every continent on the globe and loved meeting people from all over the world.

In 1990, they began to reside at Harbour Ridge during the winter, and from 2004, lived at Sandhill Cove, both in Palm City, FL.  Most recently she attended the First Baptist Church of Stuart.

Survivors include her son, Mark Hennebach and his wife Carol of Port St. Lucie, FL; her daughters, Anne Louise Kirspel of Woodstock, GA and Margo Hennebach and her husband, Mark Saunders of Bloomfield, CT and six grandchildren:  David, Clair and Margaret Hennebach; Travis and Amanda Kirspel; and Christopher Saunders.  She was preceded in death by her husband.

There will be a memorial service at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Forest Hills Funeral Home Palm City, FL. Inurnment will be in Fairmount Cemetery Mausoleum, Denver, Colorado.
