Mary Rose Smith, 74, of Port St. Lucie, passed away March 9, 2016 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce. She was born in Jamaica, and settled in Connecticut when she came to the United States. She has been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 15 years, having moved from Connecticut. She was a dressmaker during her working career. She was a member of First Community Church of God in Port St. Lucie.

She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Charles Smith of Port St. Lucie; son, Dr. Kenneth Smith and his wife Lisa of CT; daughters, Moneth E. Smith-Henry of CT and Annmarie Cummings of Jamaica; 8 grandchildren, Kristina, Leondra, Kendel, Chentel, Chenrea, Juarrean, Chenice and Mahkia; sister, Maud Johnson of Jamaica and 3 great grandchildren.

Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday, March 18, 2016 at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City chapel, and 9:00 - 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 19, 2016 at First Community Church of God in Port St. Lucie.

Service: 10:00 AM, Saturday in the Church.

Entombment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
