Obituary of Mary Jane Sullivan
Mary Jane Sullivan was born in Paterson, NJ in 1921 and grew up in Glen Rock, NJ before settling in New York City.
She met her future husband James G. Sullivan while both were students at Flushing High School in Flushing, NY.
Upon graduating high school, Mary Jane attented the Katherine Gibbs School and worked as an executive secretary
for Bankers Trust Co. at their Wall Street headquarters for 14 years. During this time, she became engaged to and
subsequently married James G. Sullivan. She worked until her son Thomas was born in 1953 and left Bankers Trust to
become a fulltime mother for Thomas and his two younger sisters, Joanne and Lisa. Mary Jane rejoined the working
world in 1972, working for The Howard Savings Bank in Livingston, NJ until she and her husband James both retired
in 1986. They have been year round residents of Palm City, FL since then.
Mary Jane is survived by her son Thomas, 60 of Bronx, NY and her daughter and caregiver Joanne, 58 of Palm City.
She was passionate about national politics and was a keen neighborhood watch enthusiast wherever she resided.
