Obituary of Mary Layman

Mary "Beth" Elizabeth Layman, 92, of Palm City died June 4, 2011 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart. She was born in Cincinnati, OH and had been a resident of Palm City since 1981, having moved from Tavernier in the Keys. She had attended the University of Cincinnati and was a member of Alpha Delta Phi Sororiety. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Oceanographic Society, Treasure Coast Travel Group, had been a counselor for the Boy Scouts of America and was a past member of the Coral Ridge Yacht Club.

She is survived by her sons, Larry Layman Jr. of Snellville, GA, Tim Layman of Marietta, GA and David Layman of Gainesville; daughter, Susan Thompson of Wilmore, KY; brother, Edward Franklin of Zellwood, FL; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Benjamin Thompson and her husband, Larry Layman.

A visitation will be 5 - 7:00PM, Monday, June 6, 2011 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel.

Funeral service will be 10:30AM, Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
