Obituary of Mary Verhaeghe

Mary Verhaeghe,88, of Alma, formerly of Hope Sound, FL. passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Masonic Pathways in Alma.

Mary was born November 13, 1918 in Wallaceburg, Canada the daughter of Edmond and Florence (Rosseel) VanDeWeghe. She married Marshall Verhaeghe in 1945 and worked as a beautician for many years. She spent most of her life in the Detroit area before moving to the Hope Sound, FL and eventually to Alma. She was a very devoted wife and daughter.

Mary is survived by nieces and nephews, Ray (Judy) VanDeWeghe of Alma, Christine (Richard) Colpaert of Utica, Richard (Judy) VanDeWeghe of Glen Arbor and Marilyn (Jerry) Morey of Lake Isabella and 11 great nieces and nephews and many great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marshall in 2000, a brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Mary VanDeWeghe and a great nephew Ben VanDeWeghe.

Memorial contributions may be made to Capuchin Soup Kitchen, 1820 Mt. Elliott St., Detroit, MI 48207-3485.

Services: A funeral mass for Mary will be held Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 12 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Kevin Maksym officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma with a prayer service at 7pm. Visitation will also be held, Saturday from 11am until time of services at the church. Private entombment will be held at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart, FL at a later date.
