Obituary of Maurice McCarthy
Maurice J. "Mac" McCarthy, 79, of Jensen Beach, FL, died February 14, 2013 at the Emerald Healthcare Center, Port St. Lucie, FL.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, he had been a resident Jensen Beach for 27 years coming from Pittsburgh, PA.
During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Navy as a corpsman.
Before retiring he had been a bus driver for Port Authority Transit in Pittsburgh for over 20 years. He was of Lutheran Faith. He had been a member of the American Legion, VFW and the B.P.O Elks both in Pennsylvania and in Florida.
Survivors include his wife of 51years, Patricia L. McCarthy of Jensen Beach; sons, John C. Seitz of Port St. Lucie, Michael John McCarthy and Edward B.V. McCarthy both of Stuart; daughters, Patricia O. O'Reilly of Stuart, and Elizabeth Rose McCarthy of Hobe Sound; a brother Jon McCarthy of Fort Lauderdale, FL; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
SERVICES: There will be a memorial gathering from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on February 23, 2013 at the Forest Hills Funeral Homes Palm City Chapel with a Celebration of His Life at 11:00 AM. Military honors will also be provided by the U.S. Navy. Inurnment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
