Mavis "Mae" Turner, 99, was born on May 11, 1924 in
Clarendon, Jamaica to Eudora and Joseph Rochester. As a young woman, she came to New York City, New York to pursue a  career in the Healthcare Industry. Mavis served as a nurse assistance and then a
radiologist technician for 34 years before retiring and moving to Port St. Lucie, Florida in 1990.

On April 9, 2024, Mavis passed away peacefully. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mavis was a very loving, kind, and generous woman. She was a dedicated grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Mavis is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, William H. Turner, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Viola Katie Graham, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
