On March 28, 2021 May-Joan Morreale Happ was welcomed home into the arms of Jesus. Born on Long Island, New York, on May 24, 1932, to Peter Morreale and Marie Farrell  Morreale, Joan was the fifth of seven children, and is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Vincent, Vernon, Eugene, Warren, Thomas, and her sister Mary Ruth Morreale Rathjen.

Joan grew up in Franklin Square, Long Island, New York, and was a high-schooler working in a soda shop when she met Edward Julius Happ, a handsome young WWII veteran with a penchant for chocolate milkshakes.  The two wed in April, 1951, and their long and happy union produced three children: Edward Gordon Happ (Shirley), Diane Marie Happ Yandell (Tim), and Steven Peter Happ (Fran). Ed and Joan lived on Long Island until 1981, when Ed transferred to Grumman Aerospace in Stuart, Florida, and they settled in Pt. St. Lucie.  Ed went home to his Lord and Savior in August, 2004.

From the time Joan surrendered her life to Jesus Christ in 1969, she served Him wholeheartedly, with a particular passion for teaching and ministering His love, redemption and healing to others. Countless lives were touched by her ministry which continued until her final days on earth.

Joan is survived by her loving children and their spouses, her eight grandchildren: Jennifer Ann Happ Cortez (George), Carolyn Lee Happ Erickson (Matt), Tara Keelen Yandell Clift (Brandon), Michael Steven Happ (Ashley), Keelen Frances Happ Woods (Adam), Timothy Bond Yandell, Jr. (Toni), Luke Edward Yandell (Amanda) and Alexander Thomas Happ (Brooke), and her 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Joan held a special place in her heart for her loving Christian friends and caregivers, for her "daughters" Gail Mackey and Janet Pistone, and her beloved puppy Sarah.

Services will be held 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 31, at Morningside Church where Ed and Joan were long-time members.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in her honor be made to Indigenous Advance Ministries, an African mission founded by her son, Steve.
