IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael Anthony
Benigno
December 1, 1948 – October 14, 2025
Michael A. Benigno, 76, of Hobe Sound, FL passed away peacefully at his son's home in Port St. Lucie, FL on October 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 1, 1948, Michael lived a life full of love, laughter, devotion, and service. A proud United States Navy veteran, Michael served honorably during the Vietnam War. His time in the Navy instilled in him a lifelong sense of duty, resilience, camaraderie, and values he carried with him throughout his life. Michael's passion for classic cars, especially his cherished 1967 Chevelle SS454, was well known. He spent countless weekends at car shows, proudly displaying his vehicles and collecting numerous trophies over the years. Beyond the cars, Michael treasured the simple joys of life—sharing coffee and stories with "the boys" at the diner, offering his trademark Italian charm and playful flirtations, and filling every room with his boisterous laugh and vibrant personality. His faith and his family were the cornerstones of his life. Michael held a deep love for the Catholic Church and was unwavering in his devotion to those he loved.
Michael is predeceased by his father, Jack D. Benigno; his mother, Therese M. Benigno; his stepmother, Gloria Lenker Hill-Benigno; his first wife, Jeanette Benigno; his second wife, Janice Benigno; and his son, Jack Benigno. He is survived by his son, Christopher Benigno and fiancée, Melissa Guthrie of Port St. Lucie, FL; his daughter, Therese Benigno of Port St. Lucie, FL; his sister, Annette Lyons of Stuart, FL; his beloved nieces; many cherished grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy.
Michael will be remembered not only for his service to his country, his cars, and his laughter, but also for his generosity, his strength, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
