Obituary of Michael Gross

Dr. Michael J. Gross, 71, of Port St. Lucie, died September 30, 2008 at St. Lucie Medical Center, Port St. Lucie.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, he had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 7 years coming from Armonk, New York.

He served as a U.S. Naval officer at Camp Pendleton, California.

Before retirement he was a dentist in Armonk, New York for 41 years

He was Past President of the Board of Directors of Congregation BNai yisrael, Armonk, NY where he was recipient of the Howard Peyser Award for distinguished service. He was a member of Alpha-Omega Dental Fraternity, the American Dental Association, the Ninth District Dental Society and the Armonk Rotary Club.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Charlotte H. Gross of Port St. Lucie; daughters, Stefanie Gross Shanck of Boston and Jessica Friedlander of Austin, Texas; a sister Ronda Gross of Hallandale, Florida and 4 grandchildren.

SERVICES: There will be a memorial service at 10:30 AM on October 3, 2008 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel. Inurnment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
