Obituary

Michael Thomas Kennard, 69, of Cooper City, Fl. passed away on November 8, 2021, after a long illness.

He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on April 25, 1952, son of the late George Kennard Jr. and Molly Kennard. He is also pre-deceased by his daughter, Mindy, and his brother, Tom. He is survived by his son, Jesse Kennard, his sisters, Patty Kennard and Kathy Lacoste, his brother Chuck and sister-in law Kathleen, and his sister-in-law Trish. He is also survived by his nieces, Kristen (Lacoste) DeSmidt and Kaitlin (Kennard) Rollins.

He moved to Miami when he was a toddler and graduated from Miami Norland Senior High in 1970. Michael's first job out of high school was with Southern Bell as a lineman. He worked his way up to become a senior engineer. He also worked at Northern Telecom and Genband. Michael loved to tinker with computers and machinery, and he was a very talented programmer. He enjoyed meeting up for lunches with his old "IT" friends to reminisce about old times.

Michael was an avid Braves fan and enjoyed watching them on television or going to the games with his family in Georgia.

He also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. This allowed him to use his skills in building and give back to the community. He enjoyed those days helping others.

A private remembrance will be scheduled at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
