Obituary of Michael Trax
Michael A. Trax, 72, of Vero Beach, FL, died March 17, 2013 at his home.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he had been resident of Stuart, Florida, before moving to Vero Beach. He moved to Florida from Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
He was an eight year veteran of the U.S. Navy and flight crew member of VP-6 stationed at Barber's Point Naval Air Station, Oahu, Hawaii.
Before retiring he had been a certified aircraft welder for 25 years with Grumman in Stuart.
He had been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart for 28 years and currently attended St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach. He was a member of AOPA, EAA, and had been active with the Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Rev. Carol A. Trax (nee Haas) of Vero Beach; sons, Christopher Michael Trax of Orlando FL and Eric Edmund Trax of Vero Beach; a daughter, Susan Melissa Kruger of Altamonte Springs, FL; brothers, George Joseph Trax of Kernersville, N. Carolina and Mark Francis Trax of Waverly, Iowa and five grandsons.
SERVICES: Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on March 22, 2013 at the Forest Hills Funeral Homes Palm City Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on March 23 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be private in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy.
