OBITUARY – MICHELE APREA

On May 14, 2020 Michele "Mike the Barber" passed away at the age of 80.

Mike will be greatly missed by his family, brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces & nephews, and countless friends.

Mike was born on October 6, 1939 in Ponza, Italy to Antonio Valente Aprea and Rosa Aprea. After serving in the Italian Navy, Mike immigrated to the United States at the age of 24 and settled in New York as a master barber and owned successful barber shops in Bronx, New York; Trenton, Michigan; East Patchogue, New York; and finally, Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Silveria, and his three living children, Rose Marie Aprea Smith (Scott), Tony (Rhonda), Carlo (Joe), and preceded in death by his son, Michael C. Aprea. Mike had much love for his seven grandchildren Casey, Serena, Daniel, Mike, Melanie, Brianna, and Justin.

Mike is also survived by his beloved sister Fiorella Aprea Petroni (Lorenzo) and preceded in death of his parents and brother Luigi Aprea (Gisella).

Mike was member of Sons of Italy, Knights of Columbus and a loyal parishioner of Tradition Worship Center Family Church in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

A private memorial service followed by burial will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City, Florida on Monday, May 18. In lieu of flowers, please visit stjude.org to donate in memory of Mike Aprea.
