Obituary of Muriel Schmitt

Muriel M. Schmitt, 91, of Palm City, died January 27, 2014 at Palm City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Palm City. She was born in Glasco, Kansas and raised in the Los Angeles, California area. She has been a resident of Palm City for the last 13 years, having lived in Melbourne, West Palm Beach and Ft. Pierce for 55 years. She retired from both the City of West Palm Beach and St. Lucie County Building and Zoning Dept. She was a former member of the Garden Club in Fort Pierce and Heathcote Botanical Gardens Club in Fort Pierce. She is survived by her daughters, Marcia R. Wehrell and her husband, Jack of Port St. Lucie and Elaine Schmitt and her husband, Fred Jette of Palm City; 2 granddaughters, 4 great grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Schmitt in 2012; son, Leonard Schmitt Jr, and brothers, Daniel "Dan" D. McDowell and Lowell McDowell.

Memorial Service: February 6, Thursday @ 1:30 p.m.. at Forest Hills funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel.
