Obituary

(Mrs. Dan) Nancy Int-Hout lived a long and lucky life, reaching her hundredth year before her death on May 27, 2022. Nancy was born in Carrollton, Missouri, on November 9, 1922, and graduated from William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri in 1942. Nancy taught tap dancing
throughout her high school years in Carrolton, and in college, she was not only the editor of the newspaper and Valedictorian, but also the president of her class, and Homecoming Queen of nearby Westminster College.

Upon graduation, Nancy worked for the Director of Operations of TWA in Kansas City, where she completely reorganized the operations department of the airline, before marrying Major Dan Int-Hout Jr., a pilot in the Army Air force, in 1944.

In 1954, Nancy and Dan moved from Chicago to Battle Creek, Michigan, where Dan became the president of the Michigan Carton
Company. Nancy had a fierce loyalty to her husband of sixty-one years, her family, her community, her country, and several ball teams and players. Mother always rooted for the Saint Louis Cardinals, American players in professional tennis and golf tournaments, for Tom Brady on both of his teams, and any team playing for the University of Michigan.

In Battle Creek, Nancy served as chairman of the Volunteer Bureau, the Ladies Golf Association, the Church Circle of St Thomas Episcopal Church, and was also the president of the Junior League. In the meantime, she transcribed Braille for the blind, was a Life Master bridge player
with over 2200 Master Points, a ping pong champion, and an enthusiastic golfer. She was a stickler for perfect grammar, loved to make quarter bets she rarely lost, and filled idle minutes with cross-word puzzles, murder mysteries and sudoku, and because of her remarkable
discipline, Nancy did 40 minutes of exercises every day of her life… until this past month.

Nancy and Dan began spending their winters in Piper's Landing, in Palm City, Florida, in 1981, and in 2004, they sold their home in Michigan and moved to Sandhill Cove year round. Still an avid competitor, mother taught and played duplicate bridge, (serving as Bridge Director of
Sandhill for many years) and also played in ping pong and croquet matches. She served on the Sandhill Cove Board of Directors for four years, and was President of the Board in 2012-2013.

Nancy is survived by her son, Dan Int-Hout III, of Houston, TX, her daughter, Karin Jones, of Asheville, NC, three grandchildren, Jon Int-Hout, Ellen Brown and Scott Jones, as well as three great-grand children, Kellan Montgomery, Connor and Isabella Brown.

Funeral Services will be held on June 11, at Forest Hills Memorial Park Chapel, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to Homes For Our Troops. (Call 508-823-3300 x502)
