Nancy Rad, 83 years old, of Palm City Florida died on Monday, September, 7th with her husband by her side. She was born to the late Kenneth W Thorton and Marie J Wilson in Chicago, Illinois on March 15,1943. Nancy graduated from Des Plaines High School in 1961 and received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Illinois Masonic Nursing School in 1965. She married her husband James Rad in 1968 and they lived together in Chicago before relocating to Palm City Florida in 1996.

Nancy was a Registered Nurse and later a Nurse Educator until she retired in 1996 and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of her patients and students. Nancy was an active member of the Palm City Lutheran Church, Martin County Master Gardner Club, The Stuart Corinthian Yacht Club, a volunteer at the Martin County Public Library Book Club, a volunteer at Treasure Coast Hospice Thrift Shop and a Tour Guide at The Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center. She enjoyed travelling and getting together with her ladies' group. Nancy is survived by her husband James Rad and Nephew Duston Thorton in Phoenix Arizona.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Forest Hills Palm City Chapel with burial immediately following at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
