Nicholas Aurelio Scibilia, a resident of Florida since 1999, died on April 27, 2020 at Tradition Hospital, Port St. Lucie. Born in New York City on February 28, 1928 to Ignazio and Mary Scibilia (nee Ponsiglione), he was the oldest of their two children, survived by his sister Ann Marie Assur (nee Scibilia) and his brother-in-law, Mr Azmat Assur of Scarsdale, New York. Following high school education he matriculated to Georgetown University and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland prior to his service in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  After returning from service, he began the practice of trial and maritime law in Brooklyn, New York until his retirement in 1999.  He married Lucy Scibilia (nee Rey), a nurse in New York City in 1957. Children were born to his marriage family and he is survived by his sons; Ignatius N., Richard J. and Lawrence P. and grandchildren, Ariana J. and Nicolas D. In 1967 they moved to Westchester County  in New York and lived there until 1999 when he and his wife retired to Florida. They settled in Stuart until her passing in April of 2012. After that, Nicholas became a resident of King's Isle in Port St Lucie where he pursued his many interests and was active in the community until his passing.  Nicholas will be inurned at Ferncliff Cemetery, Rosewood Mausoleum in Hartsdale, New York and a Memorial will be conducted at a later date. Nicholas loved our vets and felt strongly that they be helped in any way possible.
