IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nora P
Reape
March 9, 1933 – November 28, 2025
Nora P. Reape, lovingly known as Nodie, passed away on November 28, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born in Galway, Ireland on March 9, 1933 - a date she often joked made her "timeless". She spent much of her life in White Plains, New York, and eventually made her home in Palm City, Florida, where she lived a life filled with curiosity, grace, and deep affection for those around her.
Nora was the devoted mother of four children (Donald E., James, Gregory and Elaine), the proud grandmother of five grandchildren (Donald P., Brendan, Lillian, Kelly, Mackenzie), and the joyful great-grandmother of one cherished great-grandchild (Cooper), each of whom brought her tremendous pride and happiness. She is also survived by her dear sister, Josephine McCloskey, who remained a cherished presence in her life.
A woman of keen intellect, Nora was well-read, widely traveled, effortlessly fashionable, and blessed with remarkable perception. She was a devout Catholic whose faith shaped her outlook, guided her actions, and brought her deep comfort throughout her life. She had a gift for seeing people clearly - both their strengths and their struggles - and offering gentle, wise guidance when it was needed most.
Nora loved playing bridge and she cherished the friendships that accompanied those long afternoons of laughter and lively competition. She was also an avid golfer, a love she shared with her late husband, James, and she once achieved the elusive hole-in-one - a highlight she treasured. She was deeply loved by family and friends alike, each drawn to her warmth, wit, and elegant presence.
Nora will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, NY beside her beloved husband, James, with whom she shared a lifetime of partnership and devotion. Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her spirit, lessons, and love will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
