Normand R. Allard, 74, of Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Fort Pierce with his wife, Martha Allard by his side.

Born in Central Falls, RI, Norm had been a resident of Port St Lucie for 28 years.
Before retiring in 1988, for 25 years he was employed by General Motors in Framingham, MA and was a member of the UAW Local 422.

Normand was an understated gentleman with a huge heart. He had a zest for people and loved being engaged in conversation on almost any topic. He would make the time to get to know people. He would walk into any restaurant and someone would know "Norm". He had a passion for cars and could talk at great lengths about any make and model. He was a fan of NASCAR, The New England Patriots, and the Boston Bruins. He was especially honored when he had the opportunity to shake Bobby Orr's hand. Norm was also and avid cribbage player.

During the past 15 years, he and his wife, Martha, loved to travel, go on cruises, dining out, and of course meeting friends, family, or just someone new. As one of his grandsons said recently, "Pepere was a man's man and would tackle whatever was necessary head on."

His zest for life and the sparkle in his eyes will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

He was of the Catholic Faith and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie and St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Central Falls, RI.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Martha Allard of Port St. Lucie; daughter, Donna Martin and her husband Bruce of Yarmouth, ME; daughter, Robin Porter of Port St. Lucie; daughter, Paula Mangum of Fort Pierce; son, Robert Allard and his wife Dena of Orlando, FL; daughter, Denise Allard of Cumberland, RI; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Normand was preceded in death by his first wife of 38 years, Claudette Allard, his parents, Edward E. and Annette Landry Allard, his brother Maurice and his sisters, Doris Allen and Rita Desrosier.

There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City, FL placement of his urn to follow in the mausoleum at Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.

A limb has fallen from the family tree.
