Novella Louise McKenzie passed away in peace at her residence in Port St. Lucie West, Florida on Saturday July 9 th, 2022. Novella will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Novella was born on the Island of Nassau, Bahamas to John Alphonso and Renuar Annunciata (Achladis) Roker on December 20, 1926.

Novella was loved by all. She was extremely kind and considerate of others. She was the person others chose to confide in because she was a good listener and had a huge heart, always thinking of others. Novella was an immensely proud and elegant woman who would light up a room. She loved to entertain family and friends with her wonderful Bahamian cooking and elegant dining atmosphere.

Novella lived a full and exciting life; She traveled extensively with her husband George to places such as London, Amsterdam, Budapest Hungry, Jamaica, etc. and various islands in the Bahamas. Novella was always meticulously dressed and had a flair for fashion. She thrived in her retail career for many years on 5 th Avenue in NYC and was presented with various letters of appreciation for her expert customer service and mindfulness. She received various letters of recommendation for promotional opportunities consistently during her career as her bright smile and insightful interpersonal communications style did not go unnoticed.

Novella was preceded in death by her loving husband George Mckenzie and her beloved son Michael Mckenzie.

She is survived by her children, Pamela Alpert of Wisconsin (David), Jay Townsend of California, and Lynn Vincz of Indiana.

Grandchildren: Lisa Von Haden of Wisconsin (Malanie), Delia Vincz of Indiana, Grant Savoy (Candice) of California, Jared Savoy of California. Jillian Savoy of California, Desiree Townsend of California, Annie Townsend of California, Amanda Hoffman (Jeffrey) of Wisconsin.

Great Grandchildren:  Mackenzie Krueger, Colin Krueger, Aiden Vincz, Gavin Hoffman, Malayna Hoffman, Carter McKissic, Skylar McKissic, Grayson Savoy of California.

Brothers and Sisters: James, Roker, William (Bill) Roker (Patty) of the Bahamas.

Sisters: Adele Thompson (Noel) of the Bahamas, Teresa Bandelier of the Bahamas, Cynthia Burke of Massachusetts, Dorothea Dougoua of Montreal Canada. Sister In-Law: Ruth Rocker of the Bahamas, Peggy Roker of the Bahamas.

Nieces: Gina Bandalier, Lisa Roker, Martine Laing, Monique Smith, Brenda Wilson, Ashanti Roker, Yvetta Edwards, Sophia Gilbert, Marie Chantal of Montreal Canada.

Nephews:  Bishop Anthony Roker, Noel Thompson Jr., Robert Sands, Dana Roker, Thomas Roker Montague Roker. Sgt. Johnny Roker Tasso Roker, Jason Roker Bernard and Werner Bandelier, Angelo Roker, Dr. Jean-Jacque Dougoua, Garth Reynolds

Grand Nephews: Gina Bastion, Christopher Bandalier, Vontez Bandelier, Naaman Nathan, Vontez Jr. Bandalier, Giovanni Bastian Steven and Andrew Burrows

Grand Nieces: Nyah Bandalier, Martine Laing, Kailynn Bandalier, Sharnett Roker, Krystle Bamberski, Christina Johnson.

This is a "no kill animal shelter".  Novella had a love for animals and often made donations to the protection of animals.

Visitation is from 10 am-12 noon with a Prayer Service to begin at 12 noon on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Forest Hills Palm City Chapel, Palm City Florida. Burial will take place following the funeral services at Forest Hills Palm City Memorial Park, Palm City Florida.
