Obituary

Olga Duplan Mompoint, a Port St. Lucie resident for the past 15 years, died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday July 1 st at her home.

Born in 1935 in Jacmel Haiti. Olga graduated from the School of Medicine in Haiti in 1961. She was a board-certified physician who practiced Pediatrics for over 30 years. She held a license to practice medicine in both Maine and New York State. For several years, Olga worked as a school doctor at New York City public schools while holding a private practice.  As a family doctor and advisor, her work was highly appreciated by her family, colleagues, patients, and friends.

Olga, affectionately known as Gaguiche to her family and friends was a gentle and kind soul. She was a loving mother and a wonderful aunt. She had a welcoming smile, infectious laugh, and a generous heart. She always had juice or cookies for her guests, and no one could refuse. As one would step inside her house, the tray of juice was already in her hand patiently waiting for her guests.  Although she was reserved, Olga loved to dance, sing the ballads of "Jazz Des Jeunes" and watch her favorite movies: The Sound of Music and My Fair Lady.

She is survived by her three children, Sacha, Eddy and Sandra, their spouses respectively, Shari, Regina and Rudy; Her nephew, Patrick Duplan and his spouse Carmelle; Her nieces Ketty Giorgianni and spouse Bob; Karine Lubamba and her spouse Thobous; her grandchildren Kaylah, Teyraisia, Sabrina, Jada, Niesa and Elisa; her great-grandchildren as well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A private memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 10 th at Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City, Florida.
