Owen Haydn Owens Jr., 86, of Stuart, Florida, died December 29, 2017 at Martin Nursing and Restorative Care Center, Stuart.

Born in Granville, New York, he had been a resident of Stuart for 24 years coming from Fairfield, Connecticut.

He was a graduate of Yale University, class of 1954.

During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Fist Lieutenant.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Owens and Amy Hayden of Morris, Connecticut and his grandchildren, Kevin, Jeremy, Ryan and Margaret Dunn.  He was preceded in death by his wife, of 60 years, Caroline Owens in 2015, his daughter, Katherine Owens and his son, Owen Haydn Owens III.
