IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pamela Theresa
Steele
May 16, 1945 – April 23, 2022
Pamela Theresa Steele, formerly Hamilton, was born in Quincy, Massachusetts on May 16, 1945 to Philip and Theresa Hamilton. She was the most loving, honest and responsible person you could ever meet. While people knew her as a very lady like and proper person she had many fun stories. One of her favorites was when she became the best shot in her high school rifle team at Quincy High. Not a bad feat since she was the only girl on the team and it was 1962.
Her life's work was always helping those who needed a little extra help, from the orphanage she helped run right out of high school, to the sick golden Labrador puppy that she nursed back to health who became "Happy" a loyal friend. She always had a soft spot for older people who were alone, at every stage of her life she was always there to help a senior wash their hair or get to a doctor's appointment or just have someone to talk to.
While she was taking care of the orphans many with difficult backgrounds she fell for a young man fresh out of the Marine Corps named Richard Steele. While the marriage did not last it produced a son, Darren that turned out pretty good.
Pam grew up in a loving family with two older brothers Buddy and Peter and was very close with her two sisters Linda and Andy.
While Pam was a young mother in a small basement apartment full of love with Darren and Happy, she always knew her priorities, working catering jobs when they were asleep and always prioritized time with family over money. She was so responsible that once while making minimum wage she saved up enough to buy a car with cash.
In her later years she slowed down until new joy came into her life as a she became "Nana". Her son married a lovely young woman named Nereida. Pam and Nereida got on so well that Pam was matron of honor at the wedding. She doted on her grandchildren Lucas and Katie and bragged about them to anyone who would listen. Her happiest times were driving them to their events and watching them grow up.
But her love couldn't quite fit into just one family so she became "Nana" to Marissa and Sarina and to Alexia and Kiara. They brought her so much joy.
In her quiet unassuming was she brought joy into the lives of others. Whether you knew her as Pam, Nana or "Miss Pam" from Dunkin Donuts know that she loved you.
RIP – EPD Because of Nana's love for children and people who need a break donations can be made in her name to Mary's Home of the Treasure Coast, PO Box 958, Stuart, FL 34995 for young moms.
