Patricia Susan Parker, 85, affectionately known as Patri, of Palm City, FL passed away peacefully in her home on February 25, 2024.
Patricia was born in Jersey City, NJ on December 7, 1938 to Irma and Patrick Baratta. She graduated from Dunbarton College of the Holy Cross in Washington, DC and earned a Master's Degree in Education at Jersey City State College in Jersey City, NJ. She taught in elementary schools in Union City, NJ and at the U.S. Army base in Heidelberg, Germany, where she met her future husband, Ronald C. Parker.
Patricia was a loving and devoted wife to Ron Parker for 47 years and took great pleasure in being a doting aunt to her nieces and nephews, and, later in life, to her grandnieces and grandnephews.
A lively and vibrant presence throughout her life, she was a passionate fan of the game of golf and the PGA Tour. She was an avid and prolific quilter, highly skilled in many types of needlework and a pianist. She was also passionate about elementary education and volunteered for many years as a tutor at Hope Rural School in Indiantown, FL.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Charles Parker, Lt. Col., USAF (Ret.), and her parents, Irma and Patrick Baratta. She is survived by her brother, Robert Baratta; her sister-in-law, Carol Baratta; her brother-in-law Donald Jack Parker, Lt. Col., USAF (Ret.) and his wife Joanne; her nieces, Kristin Fawaz, Melissa Mortell, and Sharon Parker; her nephews, Gregg Baratta, Scott Baratta, Derek Parker, and Kyle Parker; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Patricia is also survived by many lifelong friends, her extended Texas family, and 'foster' cousins.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on March 18 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City, followed by a celebration of Patricia's life at Forest Hills Memorial Park at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, her family kindly requests donations in her memory to Hope Rural School in
Indiantown, FL
