Peter Graham Hewitt, 88, of Palm City, Florida, passed away on January 22, 2017 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart, Florida.

Born in New York City, he had been a resident of Palm City for 23 years coming from Miami, Florida where he had lived since 1955.

During World War II he had served in the US Marine Corps. He was an alumnus of the University of Miami.

Prior to retiring he was vice-president of Florida Georgia Tractor Company followed by owner/operator of Land Equipment Inc. in Miami and in Palm City.

He had been a member of Miami Shores Country Club, Martin Downs Country Club and Monarch Country Club.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years Barbara "Babs" Hewitt of Palm City; his daughters, Valerie Stern of Palm City and Leslie Gagne of Wellington, FL; his grandchildren, Michael Stern and Brooke Stern of Palm City, Megan Harper and Matthew Gagne both of Wellington and his great grandson, Ethan Harper.

There will be a Celebration of Life from 4:30 - 7:30 PM on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Monarch Country Club, Palm City.
