Obituary

Philip Coleman, 92, of Hobe Sound, Florida, passed away on August 4, 2017 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Hay-Madeira House, Stuart, Florida.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he had been a resident of Hobe Sound for 27 years coming from South Palm Beach, Florida.

During World War II he served in the U.S. Army Air Force in the Pacific.

Prior to retiring, he was a high school teacher and coach and held a master's degree for Columbia University, New York.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Gough Coleman of Hobe Sound; his daughter, Vikki Carroll and her husband Sean of Clearwater, Florida; his sister, Irene Hpochfeld of Tamarac, Florida; his brother, Irwin Goldman of North Miami Beach, Florida; his step daughters, Debbie Gulley and Carol E. Gough and his grandchildren, Shannon Carroll, Nicole Sanchez, Devin Gulley, Cara Netherton, Nicole Cardenas and Cody Cardenas. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Sanchez and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a service at 12:00 PM on Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City, Florida. Entombment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Patrick Air Force Base Honor Guard.
