Obituary of Phyllis Durkin

Phyllis Winifred Durkin, 83, of Stuart and Palm City, FL died December 10, 2008 at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, she lived in Stuart and Palm City for 30 years before retiring to Florida in the early 1980's from Bedford, MA.

She earned a B.S. in psychology from Northeastern University in Boston, took up ice skating, and enjoyed tennis, bridge and travel.

She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City.

Survivors include a son Kenneth Michael of Potomac, MD; a daughter Donna Lynne of Stuart; a brother, Wilfred Ogden and a sister, Connie Taylor, both of Warwick, RI; five grandchildren, Katie Samira, Daniel Arman, Victoria Elizabeth, Andrea Lynne and Alexandria Elizabeth and two great-grandchildren., Sarah Lynn and Tyler Christopher.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on December 12, 2008 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, FL. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service at Forest Hills Funeral Homes - Palm City Chapel.
