Phyllis Bentz Keiser Obituary
Phyllis Bentz Keiser of Palm City, FL, passed peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, February 23, 2023.
Mrs. Keiser was born on January 24th, 1932, in South Miami, Florida, and attended local schools there. She earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education and English from the University of Hawaii.
She accompanied her first husband, the late Lt Col Richard Bentz, USAF, on his various assignments in the U.S. and overseas. She held administrative positions with the FBI, the U.S. Dept of Labor, and the U.S. Air Force before joining the National Marine Fisheries Service, NOAA, U.S. Dept of Commerce in 1973 in Washington DC. She held various positions there as administrative assistant, speech writer, policy analyst, and manager of a fisheries research and development grant program. She retired in 1994.
She and her husband, Dr. Harry R. Keiser, moved from Arlington, VA to Stuart/Palm City, Florida in 2002, where she served as a volunteer tutor with the Martin County Literacy Council and the 4C's.
Mrs. Keiser was predeceased by her husband. She is survived by two sons, Mark R. Bentz (Vonda) of Palm City, Florida and Daniel J. Bentz of Stuart, Florida; two stepsons, Rudy Keiser (Jeanette) of Reston, VA, and Robert Keiser of Nashville, TN; two grandsons, Dustin Holbrook (Debbie) of Stuart, Florida and Daniel Richard Bentz of Palm City, Florida and one great granddaughter, Emma Rose Holbrook of Stuart, Florida.
A memorial Service will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, March 10th at The Palm City Presbyterian Church in Palm City, FL (2700 SW Martin Hwy).
