Obituary of Ray Barnes
Ray M. Barnes, 72, of Palm City, passed away January 15, 2009 at his residence. He was born in West Palm Beach, and had been a resident of Palm City since 1992, having previously lived in Lantana. He was a graduate of Lake Worth High School in which he was a member of several different athletic teams including the Trojan's football team, in which he still holds unmatched athletic records. He was a member of the Sea Bees for 32 years, and also served on the Admiral's staff for 12 years. He started RMB Concrete and Pre-Cast Inc., of Riviera Beach in 1971, and was the owner and operator. He was a member of the Methodist church in Lake Osborne.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Rosalind Barnes of Palm City; sons, Steven Barnes of Lake Worth, Richard Barnes of West Palm Beach, and Jay Johnson of Huntsville, AL; daughters, Joanne Cline of Tallahasee and Caye Johnson of Palm City; eight grandchildren and two great granddaughters; and sisters, Carolyn Nash of CA, Katherine Wingfield of VA and Barbara Bell of OH.
Visitation will be 4 - 6:00PM Saturday and 10 - 11:00AM Sunday at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel.
Services will be 11:00AM Sunday at the funeral home chapel.
Entombment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
